Guanacaste Combo Tour: Back To Nature
Costa Rica is world famous for it beaches, but if you're looking for something to break up your time of sun and surf, we recommend you join us on this exclusive Back to Nature COMBO in Guanacaste and visit some of our favorite, off the beaten path gems. This Back to Nature Guanacaste COMBO tour is flexible, fun and ideal for families or those to go out and explore more of Costa Rica while staying on the Golden Pacific coast.
We start off by picking you up at your hotel in the morning after breakfast around 9am. Your bilingual driver is at your disposal to take you around to the Monkey Park Rescue Center as your first stop about 20 minutes away.
The animals at The Monkey Park are either injured, removed from people's homes as illegal pets or can't be released back to the wild for various reasons. The Monkey Park is not a zoo, but exists on the gate admissions that pay to feed the animals. The animals are well cared for although many are in cages.
Clients have commented that the Monkey Park is both fun and educational for adults and kids. Each animal in the park has a unique story of rescue. Many of the once-wild animals you will see in The Monkey Park were bought or obtained illegally and since Costa Rica has strict laws against keeping wild animals in captivity, many ended up in the Park.
Your guide and Monkey Park staff will share information about Costa Rica wildlife and answer questions. The visit will take about 1 hour and thirty minutes. Restrooms and souvenirs are available.
From there, we jump back into the van and drive another 20 minutes to a local, interesting self-sustaining goat farm that is famous throughout Costa Rica for its natural goat products such as creamy ricotta, feta, Gouda and other delicious local products.
We visit the goat petting area of Rancho Avellanas and then tour the milking area. From there you can go inside the milk production area and learn about the cheese-making process.
Feel free to buy some yummy items for you to take with you for a snack.
After about a 30-minute informative visit, it's time to jump on board again and head to Playa Negra about 10 minutes away.
Be sure to bring your beach gear, because this is your chance to soak up more rays and get your feet wet along this isolated beautiful beach.
Playa Negra has become a Costa Rican hot spot for fine cuisine and several renowned chefs and popular restaurants are scattered around the area. It's not unusual to hear that you haven't visited Costa Rica if you haven't eaten at Hotel Playa Negra right on the beach.
The world-class restaurants of Playa Negra serve up fantastic local dishes with unique international flare. And since you're on the beach, sea food is a must. Your choice of Costa Rica Casado meal is included.
After relaxing a bit, it's time to head back to your hotel. Along the way, we make a stop at an interesting Guatil indigenous pottery-making shop to learn about Costa Rican native culture and art.
You'll be back to your hotel in the early afternoon to enjoy a fabulous Pacific sunset.
