SMOOTH OPERATOR -- DESAFIO OPERATES ITS OWN TOURS AND TRANSPORT
by Tui Frye, Events Planner
The other day I was thinking about just how unique we are at Desafio Adventure Company. I have been a wedding and events coordinator for many years in Costa Rica and part of my planning included sending clients to do activities during their stay. That's how I started working with Desafio. Now I'm onboard to help with team building activities, corporate events and much more.
What I think is a big plus is that Desafio is a full-service tour operator and travel agency with offices located strategically around Costa Rica which makes it a lot easier to work with them. And because Desafio is the direct-operator, we can generally pass on affordable prices for our adventures and transportation.
Most travelers aren’t familiar with the travel and tourism industry and therefore may not understand the difference between a travel agency and a tour or transportation operator. The truth is that most companies provide just one of these services – either travel planning, transportation or a tour.
We are different as we are family-owned and operated -- We offer a wide selection of tours throughout the country and actually operate most of them.
That means we:
Own the vans and vehicles we use.
Own the land and/or infrastructure where we operate tours.
Own all of the adventure and safety equipment.
Employ the full-time drivers and the guides and provide full benefits.
Carry all insurance and necessary permits.
Operate and plan all of the logistics.
Because of this, we are able to guarantee our products and services. We know your vehicle will be new and clean, that your driver will be uniformed, licensed and insured and arrive on time and your guides professionals who love what they do.
Many travel agents arrange client vacations with various hotels, tour and transportation companies for each component of your trip. We are able to not only make your arrangements, but actually provide the services for you. In fact, most of the hotels we recommend are also our partner hotels with whom we have close ties with!
We have several Centers of Operation throughout Costa Rica including our adventure headquarters in Arenal Volcano La Fortuna, Monteverde, Playa Samara, Guanacaste/Tenorio and San Jose. This give us the advantage of providing you with full support anywhere in Costa Rica and throughout your entire vacation!
We look forward to creating and unforgettable vacation or event for you in Costa Rica.
