Costa Rica - The Place we Call "Home"
Costa Rica is just a few hours' flight from many major hubs in the United States. Our small, diverse, Central American country is now home to nearly 100,000 "ex-patriots" mostly from North America, like Desafío's owner Suresh and me, his wife, Christine. We just had our first baby Marley Xahara Krishnan and she's 100% Tica!

Living in Costa Rica has many advantages. Our friendly home is ripe with opportunity - Suresh likes to call it just one gigantic playground and we are blessed with political stability, a booming economy, relatively low-crime, no military, universal healthcare, and a highly-literate and hard-working population. We are surrounded by both Pacific and Caribbean waters and have the privilege of having about 5% of the Earth's biodiversity on our tiny, little, peaceful country.

One of the most-appealing things about living here is our reasonably low cost of living.
