The La Fortuna is a must-see when you come to the Arenal Area. It’s cascading 150-ft crystaline waters are refreshing and the exuberant nature that surrounds this secluded canyon will astound. The hike down takes about 15-minutes. You can play around in small pools in the section further down stream. Not only will the waterfall take your breath away, but also the hike back up, but well worth it! There are changing rooms at the top and small souvenir shops for your convenience. Proceeds of the entrance fee go toward various community projects.

We can organize a tour for you to visit, or feel free to try it on your own. Many tourists walk to the waterfall from the center of town which takes about 1.5 hours or rent our bikes to go there. The entrance fee is currently $10.
